Care Philosophy
I wholeheartedly believe in the idea that if you love what you do everything else will fall into place. I translate that mantra into my everyday care for patients. More than anything, I want my patients to feel comfortable and confident in their treatment and in their skin. No matter the age, I want patients to understand their diagnosis and leave my office feeling as though they have a viable treatment plan to move forward. I enjoy every interaction with my patients, and I want that feeling to be mutual for them.

About Me
Dr. Michael O’Donoghue is a board-certified dermatologist who has been with IDI since its inception. He joined IDI because he wanted to be a part of a network of experts and dermatologic specialists who could offer the latest treatment options. Prior to his position with IDI, Dr. O’Donoghue earned his doctorate of medicine from RUSH University Medical Center in Chicago and completed his internship at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois. He returned to RUSH University Medical Center to conclude his training with a residency in Dermatology. Dr. O’Donoghue’s diverse experience in the dermatology field enables him to treat a wide range of skin, hair and nail conditions.
Dr. O’Donoghue is a proud Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. He is also a board member of the Noah Worcester Dermatological Society, a group of expert dermatologists who meet annually to explore and share into the latest details about cutting edge methodology in the dermatology field. Personally, Dr. O’Donoghue has contributed to the yearly meeting by involving dermatology residents or fellows to present, giving them an opportunity to be among experts in their field. He spends his free time in the classroom, leading lectures and teaching local medical students.
Outside of the dermatology world, Dr. O’Donoghue is a loving husband and doting father to three children. He coaches his children’s sports teams, from basketball to football and baseball, and he gets involved with it all.
