Care Philosophy
I believe in “patient-first” when it comes to treating all who walk through our doors. It’s my duty to ensure my patients understand their diagnosis, have a thorough treatment plan in place and feel comfortable throughout their time with IDI. A healthy dermatological regimen is key to many other aspects of a patient’s life. We want our patients to feel confident in the “skin they’re in.”

About Me
Dr. G. Michael Lewitt is a board-certified Dermatologist who moved to the Chicago area in August 2013 and joined IDI shortly thereafter. Dr. Lewitt graduated Summa Cum Laude from a six-year program at the University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Medicine, obtaining both his bachelor’s degree and medical doctorate by the age of 24.
Dr. Lewitt sees patients of all ages, and practices general medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. He helps lead clinical trials for DeNova Research which promotes cutting edge innovation in the field of dermatology. Dr. Lewitt has a special interest in treating complex psoriatic disease. He enjoys helping patients solve their dermatology issues while building strong and meaningful patient-doctor relationships with everyone who visits his office. Dr. Lewitt is also an advocate for medical students and dermatology residents and welcomes them with open arms into his office and rotations.
Outside of work, Dr. Lewitt is an active person who enjoys weight training, ice hockey, and playing his guitar as a “musical release”. For multiple years, Dr. Lewitt has been an honorary medical chair at the National Psoriasis Foundation walks in Chicago. He currently works closely with the Chicago Canine Rescue, a local no-kill animal shelter, as he is an avid supporter of animal rights. He relishes in lending a volunteer hand for causes and events that are meaningful to him throughout the Chicago community, and he does so each year.
