Born in 1964 Travis Air Force Base, California. Raised in Northbrook, Illinois and graduate of Glenbrook North High School. AB from Washington University in St. Louis 1986. MD from Rush Medical College, Chicago. Internship Internal Medicine Northwestern Medical Center, Chicago. Dermatology Residency Rush University Medical Center, Chicago. Fellowship Mohs, Marshfield Clinic, Marshfield, Wisconsin. Certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Noah Worcester Dermatological Society. Former Assistant Professor, Department of Dermatology at Rush Medical College from 1996 through 2015. Past President of both the Illinois Dermatological and Chicago Dermatological Society. Served on the Alumni Executive Board of Rush Medical College as an elected Counselor. 13 published articles, over 30 professional local, regional, and national presentations.

Clinical Experience including: Private Practice in Arlington Heights, IL growing and running a practice for over 20 years. Working as a dermatologist for a large, integrated health system in McHenry County for over 5 years. Hospital Medical Staff at Northwest Community Hospital from 1995-2016 including in-patient consulting and OR privileges. Clinical teaching at Rush Dermatology Department for 20 years. Significant experience in medical- legal consulting, and a former clinical Investigator and public speaker for several pharmaceutical companies. Mission medical trip to Haiti in 2007 for which received Presidential and AAD volunteerism recognition awards.

Married to Pamela Altman, RN, 3 lovely adult daughters, and one moody cat. Hobbies include: travel, golf, alpine skiing, gardening, and singing.
